Rimpac 2024 is the 29th exercise in the series that began in 1971 and was held annually until 1974, when it became a biennial exercise due to its increasing scale.

The 2024 rimpac commenced on june 27 in the waters surrounding the hawaiian islands. The exercise involved 40 surface vessels, three submarines and more than 25,000.
